Notice of Public Hearing for Proposed Rule
Summary of Notice:
The Northeast Dairy Compact Commission is continuing to consider whether to amend the over-order price regulation to establish a supply managment program. The Commission previously proposed an assessment/refund program and is slightly modifying that proposed program. As an alternative to the assessment/refund program, the Commission is now also proposing a base/excess program. The Commission is extending the comment period and is requesting additional comment and testimony on each of these proposed programs.
Date, Time and Location of the Public Hearing:
A public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on July 7, 1999 at the Eastern State Exposition ("Big E"), White Church Meeting House, 1305 Memorial Avenue (Gate 2), West Springfield, Massachusetts.
Request for Pre-filed Testimony and Written Comments:

The Commission is requesting pre-filed testimony to be received in the Commission office no later than 12:00 p.m. June 30, 1999 for the July 7 hearing.Written Comments:
Written comments or exhibits may also be submitted to the Commission until 5 p.m. on August 18, 1999; facsimile copies will be accepted up until the 5 p.m. deadline, but the original must then be sent by ordinary mail.

: Written comments, exhibits and pre-filed testimony will be accepted as long as they identify the author's name, address and occupation and if they include a sworn and notarized statement indicating that the comment and/or exhibit is presented based upon the author's personal knowledge and belief.
